Adventurous Amelia: More adventurous, Amelia chooses Growth because it has a greater possibility of higher long-term returns. As she is younger, her super has more time to weather the increased short-term volatility that comes with higher exposure to shares. 

Steady Sal: Sal wants long-term growth, but isn’t as comfortable with risk as Amelia is. She switches to a Balanced option. This has a lower possibility of higher long-term returns, which is offset by increased security of capital.

Conservative Colette: Because she has very little appetite for risk, Colette switches to a Conservative option. While she will generally earn lower returns over the long-term, there is less possibility of a negative return each year.
