This year’s Vision Super / FinPro Management Scholarship has been awarded to Amy Montalti, Financial Accountant for the Nillumbik Shire Council, at the 2009 FinPro Annual Conference in Creswick.
FinPro is the peak body serving Local Government Finance Professionals in Victoria. Recognising that many leaders develop from managers with a genuine interest in people and motivating them, “At Vision Super we actively support and encourage upcoming leaders in the finance industry through our support of the FinPro scholarship program”, said Paul Curtin, Vision Super General Manager Finance & Compliance.
The Vision Super / FinPro Management Scholarship is awarded to FinPro members who seek to undertake further education as part of their professional development. Now in its sixth year, the Scholarship provides finance managers and senior accounting staff with a unique opportunity to enhance their skills and leadership capabilities.
This year’s recipient, Amy Montalti, is working towards her goal of becoming a Finance Manager within local government.
“The foundations of the scholarship program addresses the areas required to build on and improve my current leadership skills. I am confident that once I have implemented what I have learnt I will be a more effective leader and ready to take the next step in my career”, she said.
Vision Super appreciates FinPro allowing us to be part of this award. We continue to encourage the professional development of finance professionals within Local Government and to those who service the industry, to ensure sustained success and adoption of best business practices.
