For most people, super will grow into one of their largest financial assets, so it’s important to keep it secure.
Vision Super has advanced cyber security systems in place to protect your account(s), including multi-factor authentication (MFA) each time you log in. Using additional verification methods to verify your identity helps us protect your account(s) – and your personal information – against unauthorised access.
Rest assured, we also actively monitor accounts for suspicious activity, investigating quickly and thoroughly if we have concerns.
You can never be too careful though. Scammers and fraudsters are always looking for ways to steal personal and financial information. So below are our top 5 tips to protecting yourself and your money.
Use strong passwords
A weak password is like leaving your front door open for scammers. Always use a strong, unique password or, even better, a passphrase like MyD0g$t1nk$, for your online accounts and never share it with anyone else. Another alternative is to use a password manager that will create highly complex passwords and remember them for you. It is important to use unique passwords for each of your accounts.
Enabling MFA where available will provide an extra layer of additional security. You can find out more about creating secure passwords at cyber.gov.au
Think before you click
Scammers often send fake emails and text messages pretending to be banks or government agencies, trying to trick you into clicking malicious links. Always access the Vision Super online account through our website, www.visionsuper.com.au (or www.activesuper.com.au if you have an Active Super product) or by typing this web address into your browser. If you receive an unexpected message about your super, do not click any links or open attachments. Instead, contact us directly to verify the request.

If something feels wrong report it
Scammers rely on confusion and a sense urgency. If you receive a suspicious call, email, or message about your Vision Super account, stop and verify it.
Report any potential scams on your Vision Super account to us immediately on 1300 300 820 or submit a scam report to Scamwatch or the Australian Cyber Security Centre.
Protect your data like you protect your money
Your personal and financial information is extremely valuable to hackers, so keep it safe. Regularly check your Vision Super balance for any unusual activity and avoid logging into your account on public Wi-Fi.
If Vision Super calls you to discuss any aspect of your super, our number will come up on your phone as 03 9911 XXXX (the final four digits may change depending on the call centre operator calling) and you will have the option to return the call via our main contact centre number.

Be discreet
Be cautious about what information you share in public or on social media, particularly when it comes to your super or finances. Scammers can use seemingly harmless information like your birthdate or email address to steal your identity.

New government website
Underlining the importance of cyber safety, the government recently launched an initiative to help Australians stay safe online. The Act Now. Stay Secure. campaign provides simple cyber safe actions that we can all take every day.
