Local Heroes 2023 wrapped

19 June 2023•2 min read

Last month, we celebrated our second Vision Super Local Heroes Awards. In partnership with Australian Services Union, the Vision Super Local Heroes Awards recognises local government workers for their outstanding contributions to their communities.

Nominations were open to all local government workers, associated organisations operated by the council and local libraries.

Our General Manager of Strategy and Growth, Sean Ellis, said he was thrilled to welcome the return of the awards for its second year.

“Our local communities are full of everyday heroes who go above and beyond for others, and these awards give us a chance to recognise and support them to continue their important work,” he said.

“Employers and colleagues across Australia were invited to nominate individual workers or teams who support made a significant difference to a community or member of a community, contributed to the safety of an individual or group in the community or made a substantial contribution to the welfare of a vulnerable person or group in the community.”

Local council members, Vision Super and Australian Services Union, came together on 12 May 2023 to celebrate and honour the nominees and winners across Victoria. Congratulations to our winner, Eleonora Tamburini and our runners-up, Daniel Coon, Nicole Migani-Roberts, Adelaide Jones and the Moira Delegates Group.

Each year, these awards bring much-needed recognition to those who go above and beyond, and we are so proud to help recognise local government workers for their outstanding contributions to their communities and look forward to the 2024 awards.
